The opportunity

Supporting & developing teams in a new normal

A nationwide team developing teaching resources for the education sector. This large team was wanting a debrief of their post lockdown experience. Critical teamwork was conducted remotely during the national lockdown. Post Covid debrief and regroup analysis was sought to gauge the pulse of the team and navigate new ways forward for their services in a changing environment.

Farsight's approach

They had all been impacted differently on a personal level, and their market and community had changed considerably. Effectively this moved the goalposts on the entire team's purpose and function. Farsight was required to develop assessments and workshops to more accurately gauge the tone and realign objectives. “It soon became clear there was a little tension between the team. Part of that came down to everyone working on their own and not having had the opportunity for in-depth dialogue,” Jonathan says. “I needed to develop content that assisted the team to front face their students and families in this new normal and provide every team member with the same opportunity for safe disclosure, understanding and clarity.”

The result

Ultimately for this client, the result was a reunified key development team. A key part of the methodology used was to provide that safe structure for the team to express themselves honestly, and uncover the dynamics within it which could then be addressed. ”The outcome for this team was improved understanding and communication and increased goodwill,” Jonathan says. “It’s about enabling each member to front foot innovation to their students and community again in a changing environment.”
